Well, we have internet again as you can see in my latest post here. That is a major victory in our ongoing building challenges. Living “off the grid” took on new meaning as we were cut off from all of you out there for three months. A very strange experience.
We moved into a dusty building site, surrounded by scaffolding, bags of rubbish, random planks of wood and a constant flow of workers. In those early days we had to use a head lamp to venture into the one “working” bathroom, which I’ll tell you more about in a future post. The memories of those early days of survival are still too painfully fresh.
For now, suffice it to say that we’re well on the way to 1000 days of building. Our patience is wearing dangerously thin and at times it’s difficult to find the humour in the situation. However, beauty is slowly emerging and we can’t not remain positive. We’re not giving ourselves any other choice.
